Learning our letters

Have you ever asked yourself, "When should I teach my child to write?"

Here at Mentone Kindergarten, educators start teaching children about letters and numbers as soon as they enter the 3-year-old Kinder room. One of the key skills that the children further develop in the process is their fine motor skills. Fine motor skills pertain to the refined use of smaller muscles. Activities that use fine motor skills include writing, buttoning shirts, sewing and feeding oneself.

Being able to form letters correctly at the children's early years will tremendously help in avoiding messy handwriting and reducing letter errors in their later years. Not only are we training the children to write letters, but we also work with them in enhancing their skills in letter recognition.
